Opening event of the EU-funded project project “Enhancing Lifelong Learning through Modernising the Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education Systems”

On Wednesday, 21 September 2016, at 11:00hrs, an official opening event of the EU-funded project with the Ministry of Education and Science will be held at the Holiday Inn hotel.

The overall objective of the project “Enhancing Lifelong Learning through Modernising the Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education Systems” is to contribute to the strengthening of a comprehensive and integrated Lifelong Learning system, with focus on Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Adult Education (AE), by establishing a dynamic correlation between education and the changes of both the social sphere and the labour market.

The project will address issues concerning the employability of VET and AE graduates and the value of qualifications and programmes in the labour market. The tangible project’s results, delivered through its five components are aimed towards: assisting the process of preparation of occupational standards and standards for qualifications; reform of the VET curricula and support in its implementation; training of teachers, directors of VET schools and other relevant staff. Furthermore, the project will support the preparation, developing and testing of necessary AE programs according to the labour market needs, support to establishment and functioning of public AE institutions on local level and development of the National Strategy for Lifelong Learning 2016-2020.

The project will last until November, 2017 and its budget is 1.972.500 euro.
