Closing Conference of the project “Support to the employment of young people, long-term unemployed and women”

Closing Conference of the project “Support to the employment of young people, long-term unemployed and women” took place on 16th of June 2017, in Skopje, Skopje Fair “. One hundred stakeholders participated on the event. This project is 2nd Direct Grant Award implemented by the Employment Service Agency since March 2015.  The project was financed by the European Union within the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development 2007-2013 in the amount of € 2.000.000.

The overall objective of the project was to integrate young people, long-term unemployed and women in the labour market. The specific objective is to increase employability of unemployed young people, long-term unemployed and women by increasing their competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes). About 4500 unemployed people have felt the benefit from the project activities.

The project has been implemented through the following activities:

i-a) Internship as support to the employment of persons up to 29 years of age where 1461 interns completed the internship programme in duration of three months. 883 or 58,9% of unemployed persons got employed, although the employer did not have such obligation.

I-b) Training for skills demanded by specific employer aimed at acquired specific professional skills through in-work trainings. 492 Interns completed the internship programme in duration of three months. 383 or 76,7% of unemployed persons got employed.

ii) Trainings for General Skills aimed to help unemployed persons acquire skills which strived to help them to improve their competitiveness on the labour market. Totally 1922 unemployed persons attended the trainings, out of which 997 persons attended the training for foreign languages and 925 for basic ICT skills. 1807 or 90.3% unemployed persons got certificates,

iii) Trainings for Skills demanded on the Labour Market aimed to train unemployed persons for professional skills demanded in the labour market. 430 persons completed the training (210 for skills demanded on the labour market, and 220 advanced IT skills, which lead to internationally recognized certificates).
